Outreach is essential to our life at EDS as a Christian school. All of our students participate in outreach in various ways, such as school-wide projects, including Operation Christmas Child, gifts for children in third world nations, coat/clothing drives, Thanksgiving Food Drive, and dress down days to raise money for a variety of causes.
We partner with schools and agencies as the need arises to support their work. For example, we have supported a school in Mississippi for the past few years as they have continued to rebuild after the Katrina Hurricane. Many grades take on a specific outreach activity, such as our eighth graders, who mentor and tutor students at a local school for children with special needs. Middle school students are also required to complete a minimum of fifteen hours of community service each year.
